Insurance, Billing, Regional Center
There are some ways to get great Floortime™ therapy funded. We can walk you through the different funding paths such as private pay, regional center as well as regional center’s “self determination program” funding when you contact us! I have worked with many funding sources over the years and can help you navigate the process.
There is no, as of right now, insurance coding for Floortime™ or Adaptive Skills Therapy. That may change, in due time, with some new legislation in Sacramento, but not currently.
I have the potential to work with insurance myself but only for counseling/psychotherpy, My staff is unable to so at this time as I am the only licensed person on staff.
For most insurance claims, I am generally considered an “out-of-network” provider as I typically do not contract with many large health systems or insurers (see below for Single Agreement Case). I am in network with a few insurances companies so please contact me to find out. Nonetheless, I offer competitive rates and private pay for individual, child, and family therapy. I have also made a commitment in my practice to offer several “sliding scale” slots to ensure that individuals and families who need support are able to receive it.
I strive to make the insurance process as easy as possible. I will provide an insurance claim form including the description of services provided, procedure codes, service dates, and a diagnosis that you can use to request reimbursement from your insurance provider.
Feel free to contact me for a free phone consultation. During this time I will walk you through the process one step at a time and help you to come up with a tailored and individualized plan that makes the most sense for your child, and family.
Single Case Agreement (SCA)
Occasionally, you may be able to ask your insurance company about something called a “Single Case Agreement,” which allows an “out-of-network” provider like myself to become “in-network” in certain instances.
A Single Case Agreement (SCA) is a contract between your insurance company and an out-of-network provider (me) which allows a patient to see that provider using their in-network benefits. As part of the SCA, the insurer and the provider typically negotiate the per session fee.
To be eligible for a Single Case Agreement (SCA), the care provider must address the unique needs of the patient in such a way as to provide a cost benefit to the insurance company when compared to the services of an in-network provider.
